{ Kylen Saliba }

What’s your city’s best-kept secret?
Pretty girls.

Who’s your celebrity crush?
Isabelle Adjani.

Three things on your desk right now?
A tape measure, my cell phone, and glasses.

The bad news: Your trek to Latin America was cancelled. The good news: You can still chow down like you’re south of the equator. The plan: Head east, to La Cervecería.

The latest East Village venture from Kyle Saliba and Winebar creator Raymond Azzi celebrates tapas plates spiked with Peruvian spice. When it comes to flavor, there’s never a dull moment at this trendy gastropub: Lime, peppers, and cilantro make their way into potato cake causas and marinated anticucho skewers; ají amarillo and salsa picante frill up fresh ceviche.

And to honor its namesake (la cervecería is Spanish for “the brewery”), the restaurant serves more than 60 bottled beers from all over the world. Swill a few at the marble bar while you watch plates sizzle in the open kitchen.

Yucatán quesadilla and a Japanese ginger brew? We’ll drink to that.
