What is your city’s best-kept secret?
iDO, an amazing Japanese shiatsu center in Midtown.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
A historian of Great Britain.

Three things on your desk right now?
The 150th anniversary edition of Great Expectations by Dickens; individually wrapped sachets of organic dandelion tea; and Ambre Narguilé, a fragrance by Hermès.

Your schedule is steeped in brunches, lunches, and afterwork drinks. But tea parties? You ditched those along with your imaginary friends.

At Bosie Tea Parlor, the age-old tradition is served with a sleek, grown-up spin. And that starts with the decor: There’s nary a doily in sight. Instead, you’ll toast among modern lines, dark wood accents, and enough seating to accommodate your crew of real, live pals. Behind the bar, tea masters steep more than 80 l’Âge de Thé loose-leaf teas, and pour wine, beer, and La Colombe coffee . Mouthwatering pastries are prepared by renowned chef Damien Herrgott (named one of the country’s top ten pastry chef’s by Desserts Magazine).

Enjoy a seasonal tea tasting and food pairing led by tea master Kiley Holliday. Held on Wednesday nights, the intimate gatherings give you a comprehensive knowledge of five teas (history, health benefits, chemistry), including a regular sized quiche and green salad. If you’d rather stay in (or surprise that special someone), take home a Valentine’s Day-themed basket filled with exotic teas, Boisie’s famous macarons, and French sable cookies.

All good reasons for a party.
