The Bagel Broker is an L.A. staple, founded in 1987 and family-run ever since. Even New York transplants — who normally eschew West Coast versions — have okayed the shop, which uses the freshest ingredients and boils the bagels before baking to get that authentic taste.
Flavors include the traditional (poppy, egg, plain), but the quirky cheddar jalapeno and sweet cinnamon raisin are just as popular. For add-ons, try homemade whipped cream cheeses and smoked salmon, or go for a bagel sandwich with deli meats at lunchtime. For something more hearty, add bacon, egg, and cheese to your order.
