Once upon a time, jewelry was more than bling. It told a story. Australian artist and designer Scosha Woolridge took note.

She uses gems, stones, metal, and recycled fibers to spin tales into — and onto — what she calls “lived-in” jewelry. The androgynous pieces (yes, a lot of her stuff is suitable for men, too) are as delicate as they are fierce. Earrings take shape as golden feathers and silver shields; woven bracelets are dappled with metal beads and delicate charms; and engraved necklaces bear wise sayings such as, “A warrior traveling will learn something new each day.”

Since its launch, Scosha’s eponymous line has graced the pages of Vogue Italia, Elle, Nylon, andThe New York Times, and is now carried by more than 80 stockists around the globe.

Talk about a storybook ending.
